As the EU is preparing to take further steps towards elaborating an integrated and coherent Arctic policy, it seems an opportune moment to elucidate and analyse developments related to the political and security environment(s) of the Arctic.
This report draws on a growing body of policy and academic analysis dealing with Arctic matters, and focuses on old and new challenges shaping the ‘topography’ of the Arctic’s political and security landscapes.
The aim is to identify and analyse key trends and drivers affecting ongoing developments, as well as to map out feasible options to address challenges.
